Brisbane’s Rachael Newton of AllBrand Caravan Services in Sandgate has been named the winner of the Caravan Trade and Industries Association of Queensland’s Young Achiever award.

Queensland caravan industry's latest Young Achiever Rachael Newton.

This is the first time a female has won this award.

The award celebrates excellence among young Queenslanders working in the caravan industry.

Ms Newton has worked for AllBrand Caravan Services since 2012 and was nominated for her drive, achievements and contribution to the caravanning and camping industry in her home state.

She has a certification in Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme and took a second job to improve her knowledge of parts and services in the industry.

"I feel so lucky to live in Queensland where we have access to beautiful beaches and fabulous bush walks, so it was natural to me to find work in an industry that celebrates our great outdoors," she said.

"My job is pretty busy so to receive an accolade for my hard work is such an amazing surprise. I am really grateful for the nomination from my employer."

Ms Newton believes caravans facilitate independence, and loves talking to customers about their needs to help them find the perfect solution.

She is keen to, one day, buy herself an old caravan to fix up and travel in it around Australia.
