Outstanding award for QLD caravan chief
Caravanning Queensland chief executive Ron Chapman has won an inaugural award for his contribution to the national caravanning body.
Chapman was named the winner of the first annual Richard Davis Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Peak National Body, named in honour of his close friend, Richard Hasse Davis OAM, who passed away in 2015. His award was presented by Davis’ widow Margaret.
Chapman was present in the early days of the association’s formation and served as secretary for many years. Since then, he has "been supportive both financially through the parks and trades associations of Queensland and logistically through various initiatives". These include developing relationships with international organisations, hosting study tours, and representing the industry on national forums.
