The nation’s leading destination for holiday park visitors, , has completed a nationwide survey of holidaymakers to identify our favourite holiday parks for 2015. is the nation’s premier search engine for caravan/camping holidays, with more than 3 million visitors exploring more than 1800 holiday parks from around Australia.

The awards program is supported by Star Ratings Australia, a voluntary quality-rating system adopted by more than 50 per cent of holiday parks Australia wide.

Sapphire Beach Holiday Park near Coffs Harbour, NSW, took out the overall prize, being named the Best Star Rated Holiday Park in Australia, as well as the best Pet-Friendly park and the best park for a Self-Drive holiday.


The Great Ocean Road Tourist Park in Peterborough, Vic, was feted for the third year in a row when it was named the best park in Victoria.

Other state winners include Jervis Bay Caravan Park (NSW/ACT), Cable Beach Caravan Park (WA), BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park (NT), BIG4 Port Arthur Holiday Park (Tas), Victor Harbor Beachfront Holiday Park (SA), and Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park (Qld).

Sapphire Beach Holiday Park owner-operator David Barry said the holiday park had done well on Turu, coming in third in last year’s awards, but says the win was still a huge surprise.

"We were sort of a bit stunned. Blown out of the water, really," he said.

 The results tallied from more than 14,000 votes afford Sapphire Beach Holiday Park extensive media exposure in various Bauer Media magazines including Take 5, Camper Trailer Australia and Woman’s Day.

The park’s secluded aura belies its 10km proximity to cosmopolitan Coffs Harbour, which is a relaxed 30-45 minute amble via the Rock Coffs coastal walk.


A personalised approach has helped the park meet the needs of different types of holidaymakers.

"We’ve owned it for seven years and have managed it as owner-operators for five. It’s a family-run business, I’ve got my son and daughter-in-law working with us and we’re very lucky to have terrific staff," David said.
