Opinion: dwindling RV sites in the CBD
Is it harder to find camp sites in Australia's capital cities? Is it a concern?
In the August issue of Caravan World magazine with Motorhome World, field editor Malcolm Street expresses concern for the dwindling number of sites available to RVers within striking distance of Australia’s capital cities – have you found this to be the case? What do you think?
"Not so long ago, Street Talk was in a caravan park not far from the CBD of a capital city. Long-time RVers will know that parks close to a city’s centre are becoming increasingly rare.
"The park manager said that one of the assets of the park in question was that it was very convenient for getting quickly and easily to the CBD – and it was. On site, there was a considerable number of cabins of various standards, but there were still quite a few campsites available. About two minutes later, in the same conversation, the manager was proudly pointing out plans to considerably increase the already extensive range of cabins.
"I wondered, just how much longer will this ‘close’ feature be available to RVers?"
