Saturday spotlight: 4WDing with Linda and Steve
Boodjamulla National Park is a sandstone plateau carved by a clear creek that begs to be visited by anyone travelling with a 4WD. It can be reached south of the Savannah Way from Burketown and then Gregory Downs; sturdy vans towed with care will make it along the final 93km unsealed road (with plenty of dust and corrugation). Offroad vans can be towed north from Camooweal along the Barkly Hwy. Stay at Adel’s Grove or in the national park, but no matter what, spend a day paddling up Lawn Hill Creek in a hired canoe and it will be a day you will never forget. It’s one of the highlights of travelling around Australia.
