Whilst camping recently, we endured a night of extremely torrential rain due to a low forming closeby. The result of this downpour was water seeping in around two sides of the window that was taking the brunt of the heavy rain(176ml overnight!!). Now we have stained interior panelling. Has anyone else experienced this problem with their Windsor van? Apparently it has something to do with the way the windows are installed at the factory (foam sealing which is prone to cracking after a while). Too late to tell us this now! At this stage we are unsure as to what will happen with regards to insurance. We would like to hear if others have had this problem and how you fixed your panelling.

Our van has now been repaired. We also had all our windows, door and any other external vents resealed. Apparently Windsor and some other manufacturers seal their windows with foam and it breaks down after a few years. You are supposed to reseal after 4-5 years...a fact we were not told about at point of sale!!! Hope this is a timely reminder to other Windsor owners. We still love our pop top and really like the reliability of our van. If only we had known to reseal earlier.

J molding is a type of molding used to present a finished edge on vinyl or aluminum siding. It is used around window casings and door casings and at the top edge and bottom of the siding to hold siding in place

Our Windsor Pop Top is a Genesis 532, 2007 model. We agree that we were never informed to remove and reseal our windows by the manufacturer. We will be doing so very soon. Our insurer has agreed to repair our damage for which we are very grateful as we know that the damage was caused by very torrential rain ahead of a low that formed nearby. I spent most of the night watching the damage occur. So upsetting. We are hopeful that the panelling will be easily obtained by our repairer. Thanks for the hints on resealing our windows. Can you please tell us what you mean by "J-mould"????

We too live in Qld & have had a similar problem with our Windsor Pop top in the recent heavy rains. We have contacted our insurance company & were given the same information about the foam sealing around the windows. We were informed by them that the seals should be completely removed & resealed every 3 years. The repairer said every 4-5 years. There is nothing on the Windsor website advising buyers of this requirement.I googled "caravan care & maintenance" which gave us some good tips. For the windows, it suggests checking the internal & external sealing rubbers for signs of being perished or ill fitting. we were also informed that it is a waste of time adding silicone over the top of old silicone. The windows must be completely removed, old silicone removed, the areas cleaned & new silicone replaced. We have had to replace the 'J-mould" as well. Our insurance company has agreed to pay for most of the cost but because the panelling is made from timber with a paper veneer, the repairer is finding it difficult to match.
