GOOD VALUE CARAVAN PARKS IN NSW

GOOD VALUE CARAVAN PARKS IN NSW - Caravan World Australia

Denyse and I are always looking for good value parks close to town for Caravan World readers. This time we have found a real gem. It is the council owned Hillston Caravan Park.

Hillston Caravan Park

Hillston is on the Kidman Way, and is 250km south of Cobar and 170km north of Hay in NSW. The park managers are proud of the lush thick grassy sites, which are drive through and very large, with a good water supply. Powered sites are $25, and we paid $22.50 due to a discount for our associate CMCA membership.

Now that is excellent value!

The amenities are clean, washing machines are only $3, there is a dump site next door in the rose garden, and the park is adjacent to Lake Woorabinda on one side and the bowls club and RSL on the other. The club serves meals.

An IGA supermarket is within easy walking distance as is the rest of the town. The local butcher smokes his own ham, chicken and smallgoods – and will slice his ham for a taste test. It was beautiful! He also sells fresh and frozen seafood and will vacuum pack it. We also bought a smoked trout from Hillston Local Produce, which sells; yes you’ve guessed it, local produce.

We stayed a couple of days rather than just the overnight stay we’d planned. The park and the town are very welcoming, and we think this is just the type of place caravanners are looking for.
